What To Expect

Located on the bank of Mekong river, Ock Pop Tok (east meets west) is a textile producer, retailer and tourist centre based in Luang Prabang. Coming here, you have the chance to learn more about traditional silk weaving process and enjoy a cup of coffee with a beautiful view to Mekong River. In addition, you will walk to visit Ban Houy Thong – a village in the outskirt of Luang Prabang. Various options for afternoon activity are given for your choice. Come and join with us!

Description

In the morning, we pick you up at your hotel and transfer to Ock Pop Tok weaving center. Our guide will explain to you the silk weaving process – starting with the caterpillar and finishing with the scarf. After that, you enjoy the beautiful views of Mekong River with a fresh cup of coffee or tea. We continue by visiting Ban Houy Thong, which is about 300m higher than Luang Prabang. On the way, you can enjoy the great view on the valley from our car. Arriving at Khmu ethnic village, we start walking through the mountain rice fields and jungle forests of Laos. Our guide will give you background information on farming and about village life in the countryside. After the walk, we will have a short break and you can enjoy fresh fruit. You’re also able to bathe in the beautiful outdoor pool for relax.

After lunch, afternoon activity is in your choice. You can either stay at the resort to relax, head back to Luang Prabang or hike up to a viewpoint before return to Luang Prabang. End trip at your hotel in Luang Prabang.
