In 2 days leaving Luang Prabang, you have the chances to experience hilarious activities. On the first day, you will trek through Laos nature, take a visit to the villages of ethnic minorities and stop at our lodge for one night staying in the nature. Next day you will try elephant ride, visit Tad Sae Waterfall and go kayaking on Nam Khan River. Let’s join with us.




Description

Day 1: Trekking to villages
At 8:00am, we pick you up at your hotel in Luang Prabang and transfer out of town. After a boat trip crossing the river, we start trekking to visit villages. Some different Laos villages along the way will help you to get an insight into the cultural diversity of Laos and the tribes of Hmong and Khmu people. The trekking around Luang Prabang will lead you along small trails that offer great views of forests as well as traditional agriculture areas. The huge mountain range covered with deep jungle always in sight. At the end of trekking trail, we arrive in our luxurious lodge in the late afternoon. Stay overnight in a room with the view to majestic mountains.
Day 2: Elephant Trek - Waterfall - Kayaking
After the breakfast, we take you to the Elephant Village. The Elephant ride or walk on the back of these adorable animals will bring you out into Lao nature and into Nam Khan River valley. Afterward, you take a boat trip to Tad Sae Waterfall – the most beautiful fall in Luang Prabang. And depending on our schedule, you will have lunch at the restaurant or at Tad Sae Waterfalls.
In the afternoon, a great and exciting activity is waiting for you – the scenic kayaking on Nam Khan River. In this 3 – 4 hours kayaking tour, you will go through Lao countryside towards Luang Prabang. We then take you back to your hotel in Luang Prabang. End trip.

  • Tad Sae Waterfall is dry normally between Feb to July.
  • Tips for tour: we suggest a swimsuit, small towel, long trousers, comfortable walking shoes/sandals and personal items such as medications, sunscreen, insect repellents, etc. If you stay overnight with us, our lodge is equipped with mosquito nets.

Trekking To Kuang Si Waterfall - Private Tour

What To Expect

A trekking tour created for people who love natural adventure. Kuang Sii Waterfall is located 29km south of Luang Prabang. It is the biggest fall in the Luang Prabang area with three tiers leading to a 50m drop into spectacular azure pools before flowing downstream. The pools also make great swimming holes and are very popular with both tourists and local. After the picnic lunch, you can go swimming and relax in beautiful scenery of nature.




Description

At 8:30am, we pick you up at your hotel and transfer to Ban Long Lao - the village of Hmong people. Here you can observe the life style of this minority group. Leaving this rural setting, the trail lead along rice fields and vegetable gardens before reaching the wooded mountains with some steeper parts. A cave is explored on the way, which is serves as a bomb shelter for the villagers ling in this valley during the Second Indochina War.
One more hour of trekking takes you to the crystal clear water of just one of the springs that feed the Kuang Sii Waterfall: a beautiful pool full of big sacred fish. After descending from the top of the fall, a Lao style lunch is served when we arrive at Kuang Sii Waterfall. You then can take a swim around and relax in the turquoise pools. In the late afternoon, we return to town and visit Wat Phabath Tai along Khong River bank. After this site, we transfer to your hotel. End trip.

What To Expect

Kayaking on Nam Khan River is an exciting activity you may not want to miss when visiting Luang Prabang. You will have the chance to admire the beauty of nature as well as the local village life on the bank of Nam Khan River. This tour is only available in high water season in Laos (from August to January)




Description

In the morning, we pick you up at your hotel in Luang Prabang and depart to boat station on the bank of Nam Khan River. From here will take you on a short cruise upriver to Tad Sae Waterfalls, which flows directly into Nam Khan River. The great natural pools invite you for a refreshing swim and you also can see elephants at the falls. You then return to kayak center by boat. After being provided with kayaking skills and safety review, you will push off downriver to enjoy paddling through stunning panoramic views of green jungle mountains and local people’s life. You will take lunch along the river and continue kayaking on the river through sections of rapids for exciting fun. You will kayak about 20km with travel time varying widely but normally approximately 4 hours.
After an equipment and safety briefing, you’ll push off downriver to enjoy paddling through stunning panoramic views of green jungle mountains and Lao life. Take lunch along the river and continue kayaking on the flowing water through sections of rapids for exciting fun. The total kayaking is about 20 km (12 mi) with travel time varying widely but normally about 3-4 hrs. Finish kayaking, we will go back to Luang Prabang. End trip at your hotel.

Pak Ou Cave And Elephant Ride One Day Tour

What To Expect

Take a boat trip along Mekong River, you stop to visit a traditional whiskey village – Ban Xang Hai. Then continue by visiting Tam Ting Cave with full of Buddha Statues in Pak Ou Complex. And an activity may make you interested is elephant ride through jungle and see natural landscape. Don’t forget to feed them at the end of your trip as a reward.


Description

At 8am, we pick you up at our appointment and depart to the boat station on Mekong River. From here, you take a boat cruising to Ban Xang Hai (village) – a Lao whiskey making village. After that, we transfer to Tam Ting – the Buddha Cave at Pak Ou. Here you can see so many Buddha Statues with various shapes and size. We then drive back to the elephant camp in Luang Prabang and enjoy a Lao style lunch in our restaurant at about 1:30pm.
In the afternoon, you have the chance to experience elephant ride trekking through jungle and admire beautiful natural scenery. You also feed your elephant after your trip. At 4:00pm, we transfer back to your hotel in Luang Prabang. End trip.

Trekking To Visit Villages In Nong Khiaw - Private Tour

What To Expect

This tour brings you to some of the most interesting highlights of Nong Khiaw and Nam Ou region. Trekking through forests and natural landscapes, you will visit ethnic minority village of Hmong and Khmu people. It’s your chance to learn more about their life and culture. Afterward, a boat trip will take you to a refreshing waterfall where you can relax and bathe before returning and finishing our trip in Nong Khiaw.




Description

At 9:00am, we meet at our appointment in Nong Khiaw and start our tour. After a short car drive, we walk on small paths following little streams and sneak between high rising mountains. You will pass colorful rice fields and gardens and stop at a perfectly preserved Laos style village. Coming here you will see traditional houses farmland and jungle covered hills along the way. Our guide will introduce you about the local traditions and Laos lowland style of weaving and other activities. After that, you have lunch in a local house or a garden.



Say farewell villagers and continue our tour trekking on a small road entering thick jungle. Following the landscape on this small walk, we arrive at village of Hmong and Khmu people. Locals warmly welcome you and introduce you their unique tradition and history. A walk around the village helps you learn more about their daily life and the differences between ethnic groups. After that, we walk down following a downhill trail covered with forest and bamboo to reach Nam Ou River. Crossing the river by boat, we continue hiking to a refreshing waterfall where you can relax and go swimming. And then we head back to Nong Khiaw by boat. End trip.

What To Expect

Nestled among limestone mountains and sweeping valleys, Long Lao Mai is a Hmong community 40 kilometers south of Luang Prabang. Established over 30 years ago, the village is a subtle blend of modern and traditional, with wooden and thatch homes next to new structures built with cement. The nearly 600 people living in Long Lao Mai are farmers and you’ll find them tending to their rice, sesame and vegetable fields all year long Trekking through verdant mountains, we will visit the famous Kuang Si Waterfall and enjoy leisure time here. After that, you will go to Hmong village of Long Lao Mai. Local people here warmly welcome you and serve you with their traditional dinner. You also join in many exciting activities with them and learn more about their life and culture. At the end of day, you will relax in your own bungalow in Long Lao Mai village.

DAY 01 Luang Prabang – Kuang Si Waterfall – Long Lao Mai (L/D)
In the morning, we pick you up at your hotel in Luang Prabang and depart to Kuang Si Waterfall. It is a hidden oasis amidst a tropical jungle. Coming here you also visit the Bear Rescue Center organized by a non-profit organization.
After lunch, we start trekking to the village of Long Lao Mai. When you arrive, you will meet friendly local people and take a visit around to learn more about daily life here. After that, you will check in your bungalow and relax. Dinner is served by the villagers on the sala outside. Enjoy your night here
DAY 02 Long Lao Mai – Luang Prabang (B)
In the morning, you have breakfast prepared by villagers. After that, you will have all morning to immerse in Hmong culture by joining in amazing activities with local people. You will learn how to cook traditional meals, help villagers work in their rice fields or learn how to weave from masters of the craft. We then say goodbye with people here and transfer back to Luang Prabang. End trip.
