Description

Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at 8am. Our first destination is Royal Palace Museum, which houses the most important treasures of Laos’ recent past. We take a short walk to the boat pier of Luang Prabang behind the Museum. We board on the boat and begin our cruise along the amazing Mekong which takes us through idyllic scenes of rural riverside life and spectacular scenery. On our way, we stop at Thin Hong, a picturesque village and get a glimpse of daily life of rural residents.   Continue our trip until reaching the beautiful Pak Ou Caves which sit amongst the limestone cliffs where the Mekong and Nam Ou rivers meet. Pak Ou is one of the most respected holy sites in Laos. It has a history dating back thousands of years with over 4,000 Buddha icons.
There are two caves to visit, Tham Ting and Tham Phoum crammed with myriad Buddha images. In the lower cave, a photogenic group of Buddhas are silhouetted against the stunning riverine backdrop. These caves combine to create a shrine to the river spirit and Lord Buddha.
Later, we return to Luang Prabang by boat. Our trip would not be perfect without a visit to Ban Xang Khong, a handmade paper village, and a drop at the old city for a walk or shop at Hmong market. End trip at 5.30pm.

Bike Trip To Elephant Camp - Private Tour

What To Expect

This tour combines two activities: biking and elephant riding. You will ride a bike through jungle and rice paddies, stop to visit villages and Henri Mouhot’s tomb. Arrive at Elephant Village, you can try elephant ride in amazing landscape. And last but not least, we take you to visit Tad Sae Waterfall, where you can relax and go swimming in cool water before riding back to Luang Prabang and end trip.



Description

In the morning, we pick you up at your hotel in Luang Prabang and move to take your bike. After that, we ride out of town on a side road passing through local villages. You will see Ban Phanom – the cotton and silk hand-weaving village. We also visit the tomb of Henri Mouhot – the French explorer who popularized Angkor Wat of Cambodia. When we arrive at Elephant Lodge, you will get 30 minutes of elephant riding in an amazing landscape with a background of jungle-covered mountains. You then enjoy lunch in this beautiful setting and take a short rest
In the afternoon, you take a boat trip to Tad Sae Waterfall for a refreshing swim (from August to January) or a short jungle walk with visit to a baby elephant in the jungle (from February through July). In the morning, we pick you up at your hotel in Luang Prabang and depart to Ban Xieng Lom – a Nam Khan Riverside village. It’s a fantastic location in the middle of the countryside at the base of a huge mountain. After the boat trip crossing Nam Khan River, we start hiking through jungle up to a mid-mountain Lao Theung village of Khmu people. Here you can see the daily life of local people, ask them couples of question with the help from your guide, and wander around in the small village. Say goodbye with friendly villagers, we enter the different world of a grander scale dominated by some jungle, soaring limestone rock faces and flourishing ferns.
Trekking forward a steep rocky track, we ascend to the final destination – Lao Sung village of Hmong people. It is an isolated and quaint village high in the mountains overrun by roaming livestock. Here you will enjoy lunch in a local, humble home to take part in a unique encounter. After the meal, you have the chance to listen to the stories from local people and even ask your questions about their way of life up here. After this tranquil pause, we start our descent back through other small villages along the way. You will follow a little stream until reaching Nam Khan River. Day 01 Trek into the Jungle and Hillside Resort (L, D)
In the morning, we pick you up at your hotel in Luang Prabang and ride to That Thong waterfall, where we start our adventure trek to the hidden valley retreat. Going on small trails, you can explore the forests and the rarely visited protected area. After a decent uphill walk, you arrive at Khamu village. Meeting people here, you have the chance to learn more about the rural life in this small Laos community. We then take a short hike to the small resort for a Lao style lunch beside the pool or in the garden. Afterward, the rest of day is your free time. You can check in resort and relax or continue walking to the view point on the hill where you can see Mekong River and Luang Prabang on a clear day. Dinner is served at the small restaurant or in the lush gardens. This night you will stay in resort.


Day 02 Discover Kuang Si (B, L)
Waking up early, we enjoy an early morning workout or a leisure walk in the beautiful countryside. After that, you will have breakfast at the resort. Then we take a short vehicle through the valley and stop at Hmong ethnic village. From here, we start walking to famous Kuang Si Waterfall. A short steep climb brings you to the bottom of the falls. Here you have the chance to cool off and take a dip in the many cascading water. Finally, we transfer back to your hotel in Luang Prabang in the late afternoon. End trip.

Crossing the Ou River, we start trekking through old forests and down the traditional hunting paths offers a rare insight into the unique culture and nature of the Pha Teung area. A picnic lunch is taken along the trail. After that, we trek to the Kular Cave, then go further to the last stop at Ban Si Boun Khonkham Village, which is located on Ou River bank. Riding To Visit Luang Prabang - Private Tour

Description

In the morning, we meet you at your hotel and then start out bicycle tour. Firstly, we will visit the morning market to explore a distinctly Lao selection of goods. Next we will make our way to explore the Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Museum - the headquarters of ordnance clearance operations. Here you can learn more about Lao’s difficult wartime past. Cross Nam Khan River on the old communist bridge, you will visit a local craft village where villagers weave, make mulberry papers and so on. We will take an upper road with a view of the city and swing down to an orphanage school where hundreds of neatly dressed children are given accommodation and opportunities to learn and care for themselves and each other. Coming to this school, you also visit a small gallery and the vegetable gardens managed by the children. After that, you will have lunch with local noodle and take a short rest. We then ride back to city center. End trip at your hotel approximately at 2:00pm.

What To Expect

By joining this tour, you will ride a bicycle to the rural area along the Mekong. You have the opportunity to learn more about the daily life in villages and their famous products as well. Lunch prepared by local cook will be served in Ban Na. Let’s join with us.



Description

In the morning, we meet you at your hotel and move to get your bike. We then start the trip biking down the hill to the boat docking station to cross the Mekong River on a fishing boat (The bikes are also taken with us). From Ban Xieng Man village on the other side of the river we bike to Ban Na Kham, which is known for cooking the sugarcane and sticky rice bamboo sticks in traditional style. Here you will visit around and try its local snack. The trip continues by visiting Ban Houay Tan (Khmu tribe village), passing Ban Som and stopping at Ban Na for a mouthwatering lunch prepared by our local cook. After lunch, you will visit a superannuated mango tree which is over 500 years old. We then continue riding to visit Ban Chan Neua and Ban Chan Tai – a jar making village. After that, we voyage across the Mekong River on a fishing boat back to docking station. Our driver will take you back to your hotel. End trip.

Trekking To Khmu Village - Private Tour

A trekking tour takes you to visit traditional Khmu Village. After transfer by car and boat, you’ll trek through stunning landscapes of jungle with a backdrop of Karst formations, visit and eat lunch in a traditional Khmu village, and finally hike to the Tad Sae waterfall, where you can relax and swim before return to Luang Prabang.

In the morning, we meet you at your hotel and then ride about 30 minutes to the boat station. We then take a longboat across and start trekking through beautiful jungle canopy. We will stop along the way to explore traditional Khmu village nestled in the mountains. You may enjoy lunch here or wait until you reach the waterfall, depending on the time and preferences of your group.
After visiting the village, we continue trekking down to Tad Sae Waterfall. If you join the tour in dry season (from February to July), you can go swimming in this fall. Finally, we cruise back to the boat station. We will take you back to your hotel in Luang Prabang. End trip approximately at 2:30pm.

We will ride from the city center along Mekong River on the mixed dirt and paved road through local villages. On the way, we will stop to visit Ban Xiang Hai, as known as “Whiskey Village” which is famous for its rice whiskey product. Nam Ou River and Mekong River meet in Pak Ou – a stunning setting with incredible limestone cliffs rising from the river. We’ll stop for lunch in a local restaurant before loading our bikes and taking a private boat to the holy Pak Ou Caves. Coming here you can see thousands of Buddha relics with various kinds and sizes. We then board the boat again for a relaxing cruise on Mekong River to return to Luang Prabang. Our guide will explain to you the silk weaving process – starting with the caterpillar and finishing with the scarf. After that, you enjoy the beautiful views of Mekong River with a fresh cup of coffee or tea. We continue by visiting Ban Houy Thong, which is about 300m higher than Luang Prabang. On the way, you can enjoy the great view on the valley from our car. Arriving at Khmu ethnic village, we start walking through the mountain rice fields and jungle forests of Laos.
