Kayaking On Nam Ou River
High water season (August to January):In the morning, we will get you at your hotel in Luang Prabang and leave to Ban Houay Leuang – a town on the bank of Nam Ou River. We will start kayaking on Nam Ou River, through astonishing mountains secured with wild and ordinary riverside towns of Hmong and Khmu people. Water conditions changes extensively with the season and water levels. Generally, you can expect about 2 – 3 hours kayaking with different sections of rapids proper for specific swimmers with some experience kayaking. Our total kayaking division is around 15km. You will have a trip lunch on the riverbanks. Besides, kayak will finish at Ban Pha Teung (town). We'll wrap up the day with a visit on return drive to the "Whiskey Village'' – a Mekong riverside town which is surely understood for its rice whiskey. After that we continue driving back to Luang Prabang. End trip at your cabin.
Low water season, February to July:
In this period, the motivation is the same beside the kayaking is extended to the Nam Ou Bridge for 21 km (13 mi) medium kayaking usually taking approximately 4-5 hours. The kayaking gets to some degree all the more invigorating and particular as there are more revealed rocks.
